How to host your email at Google

This article explains how to host your email at Google. This means your website will continue to be hosted at DreamHost, but your email will point to Google's servers where they will reside.

  1. Sign up for a G Suite account.
  2. After you're signed up, you can add your email addresses within the G Suite panel.
  3. Once those addresses have been added at Google, point your DreamHost's MX Records to Google.
  4. This page lists the MX records you'll need to point to.

DNS propagation

After you change the MX records to point to Google, you must wait a few hours until the DNS updates online. After it updates, your email will be hosted at Google. You can then add the address to any client you like. View the following page for Gmail email settings:
