Flushing your DNS cache on iPhone or Android

 

Overview

The following describes how to quickly clear your DNS cache on either an Apple or Android device.

Apple (iOS)

To flush your DNS cache:

Option 1 — Toggling Airplane mode

The easiest solution is to toggle Airplane mode on and off.

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Scroll to Airplane Mode and tap to toggle it on.
  3. Tap it again to toggle it off.

Option 2 — Rebooting your device

Rebooting your iPhone should also clear out your DNS.

Android

Android does not offer a way to clear the system's DNS cache within the device. However, you are able to flush the DNS cache using a browser such as Chrome:

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. In the URL bar, type in chrome://net-internals/#dns:
  3. In the left pane, select DNS.
  4. In the right pane, tap the Clear host cache button.
