How to remove an SSL certificate

You can remove an SSL certificate from your domain at any time in one of two ways.

How to remove the SSL certificate

From the 'Manage Domains' page

  1. Navigate to the (Panel > 'Domains' > 'Manage Domains') page.
  2. To the right of your domain, click the 'https On' link.

  3. On the next page, click the 'Remove https for example.com' link.

  4. On the last page, check the box next to 'Yes, I'm sure!'. Then click Remove Secure Hosting

From the 'Secure Hosting' page

  1. Navigate to the (Panel > 'Domains' > 'Secure Hosting') page.
  2. To the far right, under the 'Actions' column, click the Settings button.

  3. On the next page, click the 'Remove https for example.com' link.

  4. On the last page, check the box next to 'Yes, I'm sure!'. Then click Remove Secure Hosting

What happens to your site if you remove an SSL certificate?

When you remove an SSL certificate, any internal link in your site that starts with HTTPS will throw an insecure browser warning. This can cause visitors to leave your site. View the following article for details:
