How do I subscribe to the 'old-messages' folder?


Setting up your Inbox Archiver enables an old-messages folder.

Gaining access to the 'old-messages' folder that is created for these messages is something that must be done manually. You simply need to subscribe to the folder where your archived messages are stored.

NOTE: You need to use an email client like Thunderbird, Outlook, or MacMail to subscribe to the old-messages folder.

Checking via Thunderbird

  1. Right click on the root of the 'IMAP' folder as shown below. In most cases, this is the name you assigned to your email account or may even be your email address.

  2. Click on Subscribe from the list of options.
  3. Click the + next to the INBOX folder to expand the list of folders.
  4. You are presented with a list of folders, including 'old-messages'
  5. Check the box to the right of the 'old-messages' folder and click on Subscribe.
  6. Click the Ok button.

Checking via Outlook

  1. Right click on the 'Inbox' folder.
  2. From the pop-out menu, select 'IMAP Folders...'.
  3. In the next window, enter the word 'old' into the search box.
  4. Click the 'Query' button.
  5. The old-messages folder now shows. Click the 'Subscribe' button.
  6. Click the Ok button.
  7. Expand your 'Inbox' folder and you'll now see the old-messages folder.

Mac Mail

Many users report that they are unable to see any folders to subscribe to. This is a known bug with Mac Mail that is not yet resolved. If you need to view the 'old-messages' folder and Mac Mail isn't displaying anything, the only option would be to use a different email client.
