How to subscribe to the 'old-messages' folder


Setting up your Inbox Archiver enables a folder titled 'old-messages'.

Gaining access to the 'old-messages' folder is something that must be done manually. You simply need to subscribe to the folder in your mail client.


  1. Log into webmail at

  2. Click 'Mail' in the left panel.

  3. Click the folder icon, or three dots icon.

  4. From its dropdown menu, select Manage folders.

  5. Toggle the button to the right of old-messages.
    The folder displays when navigating back to your Inbox.

Checking via Thunderbird

  1. Right click on the root of the 'IMAP' folder as shown below. In most cases, this is the name you assigned to your email account or may even be your email address.

  2. Click on Subscribe from the list of options.
  3. Click the + next to the INBOX folder to expand the list of folders.
  4. You are presented with a list of folders, including 'old-messages'.
  5. Check the box to the right of the 'old-messages' folder and then click Subscribe.
  6. Click the Ok button.

Checking via Outlook


  1. Right click on the 'Inbox' folder.
  2. From the pop-out menu, select 'IMAP Folders...'.
  3. In the next window, enter the word 'old' into the search box.
  4. Click the Query button.
  5. The old-messages folder now shows. Click the Subscribe button.
  6. Click the Ok button.
  7. Expand your 'Inbox' folder and you'll now see the old-messages folder.


  1. Click the Tools menu in the top navigation bar.
  2. Select the IMAP Folders... option.
  3. Find the old-messages folder, select it, and then click the Subscribe button at the top.
  4. Expand the 'Inbox' folder. The old-messages folder appears.

Mac Mail

Many users report that they are unable to see any folders to subscribe to. This is a known bug with Mac Mail that is not yet resolved. If you need to view the 'old-messages' folder and Mac Mail isn't displaying anything, the only option would be to use a different email client.
