You can add a Managed VPS to your DreamHost account, either for the first time or as an additional Managed VPS, from the Servers & Usage page in the panel. DreamHost emails you after the Managed VPS is provisioned, which usually completes in a few hours.

How do I add a Managed VPS for the first time?
- Go to the Servers & Usage page.
- Click the Get Started button.
- Select a Monthly, Yearly, or 3 Year option.

Choose a Managed VPS plan.
The Cart page opens, allowing you to confirm your order summary.
- Click the Submit Order button.
An email is sent to you after the Managed VPS is provisioned. This usually completes in a few hours.
How do I add an additional Managed VPS to my account?
- Go to the Servers & Usage page.
- Click the Add Service+ button and select Virtual Private Server.
- Click the Get Started button.
- Select a Monthly, Yearly, or 3 Year option.

FAQs
How do I delete my old server's hosting plan after I add a Managed VPS?
If you chose to migrate all sites to the Managed VPS from another server, you can delete the old server's hosting plan after you add a Managed VPS. However, you must first remove (or migrate) any remaining users on your old server to the new Managed VPS before you can delete the old plan. What OS runs on my Managed VPS?
Managed VPS plans may run either the Ubuntu Jammy or Ubuntu Noble OS. See this article to learn more about how to check your server's OS version.
Is my DreamHost email account affected when I add a Managed VPS?
No. Moving a site to a Managed VPS does not affect your email service. Email is on a different server and will continue to function normally.
