Overview
A DreamObjects user is an access identity you create for DreamObjects, separate from and distinct from any other users in your DreamHost panel. DreamObjects users have the following characteristics:
- DreamObjects users are added separately and are distinct from any other users in the panel.
- A user can have more than one set of keys, so access can be granted or revoked independently.
- A user can also have multiple buckets.
How do I view my DreamObjects users?
Navigate to the DreamObjects page in your DreamHost panel, then click the Manage tab at the top.
The DreamObjects page opens and displays a list of users.
How do I create a user?
- Click the Create New User button on the Manage tab of the DreamObjects page.
- Enter a username in the 'Username' field. Usernames can only contain letters, numbers, dashes, dots, and underscores, and must be unique on the cluster.
- Click the Add User button.
How do I edit a user?
You can add keys and buckets to a user. However, you cannot change any user properties, such as the username.
How do I delete a user?
Deleting a user also permanently removes all data owned by that user. Although DreamHost attempts to preserve the last 5 days' worth of data, there is no guarantee that any data from a deleted user can be recovered.
- Navigate to the DreamObjects page in your DreamHost panel.
- Click the Manage tab at the top. The DreamObjects page opens and displays a list of users.
- Locate the user you want to delete. A Remove User link appears at the bottom right of the user object.
- Click the Remove User button. A confirmation dialog box opens.
- If you are certain you want to permanently delete the user, click Remove in the confirmation dialog box. The user is deleted.
