Traffic page overview

Overview

This article provides details on the Traffic page available in the DreamHost panel.

The Traffic feature is only available on fully hosted domains, as it relies on data from your site's access.log. The Traffic tab does not appear for DreamCompute or redirected sites.

How to view and manage graphs

The Traffic page in the DreamHost panel provides a detailed analysis of your website's visitor activity. It includes data on unique and total requests, user demographics (device usage and location), individual visitor data, and bot activity. This information can be used for SEO optimization, trend identification, and problem-solving.

If your site has BunnyCDN services enabled then graphs data will be unavailable under the Traffic tab. This is because BunnyCDN and the Traffic feature are not compatible services at this time.

Viewing graphs

To view your site's traffic graphs:

  1. Navigate to the Manage Websites page.
  2. Click the Manage button to open the Domain Settings page, which allows you to adjust various settings for your site.
    • If in Grid view, click the Manage button at the bottom of the website box.
    • If in List view, click the Manage button at the far right of your domain name.
  3. Click the Traffic tab.
The Traffic page opens and automatically displays a detailed graph of user visits to your site.

Managing graphs

To switch to a view of the Bots graphs, click Visitors at the top of the page and select Bots. See the following articles to learn more about these graphs:

By selecting the option in the top right corner, you can view graphs for 7-day trends and 24-hour periods. These graphs refresh every hour.

Monitoring in real-time

You can use either SSH or FTP to monitor your site's access.log in real time.
