Resetting a WordPress installation

 

Overview

This article explains how to reset WordPress if it was installed previously using the DreamHost WordPress installer in the panel.

Be very careful before proceeding, as these instructions overwrite your website content and set WordPress to a fresh installation.

Resetting WordPress

To reset a DreamHost WordPress installation:

  1. Navigate to the Manage Websites page.
  2. Click the Manage button to open the Domain Settings page, which allows you to adjust various settings for your site.
    • If in Grid view, click the Manage button at the bottom of the website box.
    • If in List view, click the Manage button at the far right of your domain name.
  3. Select the WordPress tab.
  4. Scroll down to Reset WordPress and click Reinstall.
  5. Review the domain to reset and click Next.
  6. Select the preferred reset method:
  7. Click Next.
  8. Review the confirmation page details and then type in the domain name to confirm the process.
  9. Click Confirm Reinstall.
