Changing the collation of your database

Overview

You can change a database's collation from phpMyAdmin. Some website software requires a specific collation, so you may need to change it depending on the software your site uses.

How do I change the database collation?

1. Log into your server via phpMyAdmin.
2. Click the database name in the left pane.
3. Click Operations in the top menu.
4. Choose your desired collation from the dropdown menu.
5. Click the Go button to save.
