.dev and .app domains force HTTPS by default

Overview

The following describes why HTTPS is forced by default on both .dev and .app domains.

Why .dev and .app domains force HTTPS by default

The .dev and .app domains are owned by Google, which enforces HTTPS on both domains to enhance security and protect user data. This HTTPS enforcement is mandatory and cannot be disabled.

To avoid browser security warnings, you must install an SSL certificate.

Both .dev and .app domains cannot be used with Remixer Cloud Hosting because this service does not support the required HTTPS/SSL certificates. Consider switching to a hosting plan that supports HTTPS to use your .dev or .app domain securely.
