Remixer Visual Editor overview

Overview

Remixer's Visual Editor gives you hands-on, point-and-click control over your site, letting you make targeted adjustments directly on the page without spending any credits. It works alongside Remixer's Chat mode, so you can use AI-assisted conversation for larger structural changes and switch to the Visual Editor whenever you want precise, manual control over a specific element.

This article describes the Visual Editor's key features and how to use them.

What does the Visual Editor include?

The Visual Editor provides the following tools for direct page editing:

  • Pages Manager — lists all pages in your site and lets you navigate between them or manage your page structure from one place.
  • Element selection — click any element on the page to select it. Editing options for that specific element appear in a panel on the right side of the screen.
  • Inline text editing — edit text content directly on the page, exactly as it appears to visitors.
  • Save, Undo, Redo, and Exit controls — these controls appear in the top bar while you are in Visual Editor mode. Use Save to commit your changes, Undo and Redo to step back or forward through your edits, and Exit to leave Visual Editor mode.

The Visual Editor does not auto-save. If you close the tab or lose your connection before clicking Save, any unsaved changes will be lost.

How do I open the Visual Editor?

The Visual Editor is available on all Remixer plans, including Legacy, Trial, and paid plans.

  1. Open your Remixer project.
  2. In the top bar, click the Visual Editor icon on the left side.

The Visual Editor opens. The Pages Manager appears on the left, the page canvas in the center, and element-specific editing options on the right when an element is selected.

How do I edit an element?

  1. In the page canvas, click the element you want to edit.

Editing options for that element appear in the panel on the right side of the screen.

  1. Make your changes using the options in the right panel, or click directly into a text element to edit it inline.
  2. When finished, click Save in the top bar to apply your changes.

Some parts of a page may look like a single element but are actually made up of several smaller elements layered on top of each other. If clicking an area doesn't select what you expect, try clicking more precisely on the part you want to change, or look for smaller sub-elements within that section.

How does the Visual Editor relate to Chat mode?

Remixer offers two editing modes -- the Visual Editor and Chat mode -- and you can switch between them at any time. Chat mode uses AI to make larger structural or design changes from a conversational prompt. The Visual Editor is suited for targeted, manual adjustments where you want direct control over a specific element. Edits made in the Visual Editor are free and do not use credits from your plan's allowance.

FAQs

Do Visual Editor edits use credits?

No. Edits you make yourself in the Visual Editor are free and do not count against your plan's credit allowance. AI actions in Chat mode -- such as generating content, making AI-assisted edits, and publishing -- are what draw on credits.

Can I undo a change I made in the Visual Editor?

Yes. The Undo and Redo controls in the top bar let you step back or forward through your edits while you are in Visual Editor mode. Changes are only permanent once you click Save.

Can I use the Visual Editor on a free trial?

Yes. The Visual Editor is available on all Remixer plans, including Legacy, Trial, and paid plans.
