How do I update my credit card information?

Overview

You can update your DreamHost credit card securely in your panel on the Manage Payments page. If the card was used to pay for a domain set to Auto Renew, updating it turns that domain's Auto Renew off, so you must re-enable Auto Renew afterward.

When is this necessary?

If you use the AutoPay system, you may need to update your credit card details over time to replace outdated or expired information.

How do I update my credit card?

You can make this change securely within your DreamHost panel. See this article for instructions on updating your credit card information.

Auto-Renew domains

When you update a card that was previously used to pay for a domain(s) set to Auto Renew, the domain's Auto Renew status is set to Off. You must then go back and set the domain(s) back to Auto Renew after updating your credit card.

How do I fix expired-card and AutoPay errors?

If you receive an error due to an expired card, use the above instructions to add your new card to the panel as the new AutoPay card on file.

As long as your credit card data saved to your AutoPay is accurate, the billing system will attempt to charge your card again within a week until your due balance is resolved.
