Overview
The following describes the various ways you can downgrade or upgrade from a VPS hosting plan.
Moving from a VPS to a Web Hosting plan
To move from a VPS, you must first add a Web Hosting plan to your account.
Once the Web Hosting plan is active, delete the VPS and select Shared Machine during the deletion process to migrate your data to the Web Hosting server.
When finished, a message appears in the panel informing you that everything on the VPS will be moved to the Web Hosting server.
How to move a VPS to another hosting plan
The following sections explain how to upgrade a VPS to another hosting plan.
Upgrading to a Dedicated Server
If you'd like to move all of the content on your VPS to a Dedicated Server, you must first purchase the Dedicated Server.
When adding the Dedicated Server, select your VPS in the dropdown to move all data. Once everything has been moved, you can then delete your VPS.
Upgrading to DreamPress
See the instructions on how to upgrade an existing WordPress site to DreamPress.
- If you only had the single WordPress site, you can then delete the VPS.
- If you have other sites on the VPS, you must continue paying for that plan since only the single site would have been moved to DreamPress.
Moving to a different VPS plan
See the change your VPS hosting plan article for instructions on moving your sites to a different plan.
