The following explains how to contact DreamHost support via Live Chat.
What hours are Live Chat available?
Live Chat is available in English and Spanish 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The chat should begin within a few minutes of your request. If a technician is not immediately available, please be patient, as support will respond as soon as possible.
Limitations
Sensitive information
For security reasons, support cannot provide sensitive account information via the Live Chat system. Such requests can only be emailed to the address listed as the primary email on your account.
Complex issues
Not all issues can be resolved promptly via chat. If, during your chat, your request requires further investigation, the technician will instruct you to open a ticket (email) so that support may investigate further.
Requesting Live Chat
To start a Live Chat session:
- Visit the Contact Support page, which opens the DreamHost Panel Assistant upon your first visit.
- Enter your question along with any relevant details. Try to be as specific as possible to be presented with the best potential solutions.
- If the solutions do not answer your question, click the Talk to an Agent button.
- To skip the Assistant, click Talk to an Agent, which opens the standard Contact Support form.
- Fill out the form that appears with a detailed description of what you require assistance with.
- Next to the Chat with an Agent section, click the Start a Chat button.
If you cannot access your account, the only way to contact support is to use the online contact form.
Viewing chat history
All chats are stored in your panel on the Support History page if you need to review past conversations.
It may take up to an hour after your Live Chat conversation ends for the transcript to appear in the panel.
Troubleshooting Live Chat connection issues
If the Start a Chat button is unavailable or the chat does not load, the issue may be caused by your browser’s cookies and site data.
Using a private/incognito window may help confirm the issue, but it will not fix it in your normal browser session.
Follow each step below to resolve this issue.
Clear site data
This step clears the cookies and site data for the DreamHost panel.
Chrome
- Open the DreamHost panel.
- To the left of the URL, click the View site information icon. A pop-up displays.
- Click Site settings.
- Under the Usage section at the top, click Delete data.
- Reload the page.
Safari
- Open the DreamHost panel.
- In the top menu, select Safari > Settings. A pop-up displays.
- Click the Privacy tab.
- Click the Manage Website Data button. A pop-up displays a list of websites.
- Search for and select dreamhost.com.
- Click the Remove button.
- Click the Done button.
- Reload the page.

- Select Clear cookies and site data. A pop-up displays for the current website.
