Moving from a Shared Unlimited hosting plan

Overview

This article describes the various ways you can upgrade or downgrade from a Shared Unlimited hosting plan.

How to move to another hosting plan

The following sections explain how to move from an Shared Unlimited hosting plan to another plan.

Upgrading to VPS hosting

See the Adding a VPS article for instructions on adding a plan.

  • When purchasing, you have the opportunity to move ALL of your users and domains to the new VPS. You can also choose not to move any data.
  • If you would like to only pay for a VPS and remove Shared Hosting, check the radio button to move all users and domains during this process.

After all of your sites have been moved to your new VPS and they are resolving correctly, you must then manually cancel your Shared Hosting plan.

Upgrading to a Dedicated Server

See the Add a Dedicated server article for instructions on adding a new Dedicated Server hosting plan. When creating a Dedicated Server, you can choose to move all of your Shared users to the new machine.

Upgrading to DreamPress

If you already have a WordPress site on Shared Hosting, you can upgrade it to DreamPress.

You can also add a new domain to DreamPress.

Downgrading to Shared Starter

If you have a single website on your Shared Unlimited plan and would like to downgrade to a Shared Starter hosting plan, make sure you first understand the limitations described in the Adding a Shared Starter hosting plan article, then contact support to request this.
