Using Google's Single Sign-On

Overview

Google's Single Sign-On (SSO) lets you sign up with a new DreamHost account or log in to your DreamHost panel using your Google account. SSO simplifies the login process by letting you use your Google account instead of remembering another user/password combination.

Some browsers are enabled with default pop-up settings that disable pop-ups from displaying. If so, you must manually allow your browser to display pop-ups. The following links show how to do this with popular browsers.

How do I use SSO at DreamHost?

The following steps use Google's SSO to create and log into your DreamHost account.

How do I create a new account?

Follow the instructions in this article to create a new DreamHost account.

During this process, you have the option to create an account with an email of your choice or use Google's SSO method. Choose the Sign Up with Google button. Then log in with your Google email and password. After you successfully log in, a confirmation message appears in your sign-up form.

How do I log into my existing account?

If you already have a DreamHost account, you can use SSO to log in.

In order for SSO to function, the primary email address in your DreamHost account must be the same as your Google email address. You can change the primary email in your panel by editing your contact information.

  1. Visit panel.dreamhost.com to log in.
  2. Click the Sign In with Google button.
  3. Enter your Google email and password to continue.
  4. Authenticate your email address with Google to complete the process.

Once authenticated, you will be able to use SSO to log into your panel.
