Overview
This article walks you through adding a hosting plan to a domain registration you've previously added to your account.
Background
A hosting plan allows your website to be viewable on the Internet. Once added, you can then add additional services such as WordPress, email, and an SSL certificate.
Prerequisites
This article assumes you have already purchased or transferred a domain registration into your DreamHost account.
Adding a hosting plan
To add a plan:
- Log in to your panel.
- In the left menu under the Add Product section, select the Hosting tab.
- Select a hosting plan from the list. For example, Web Hosting, VPS, DreamPress, or Dedicated.
- Select the billing term to host the plan. (Monthly or Annual)
- Select a plan tier (depending on the hosting plan type), then click the Add to Cart button.
- Review your cart details, then click the Submit Order button.

After your hosting plan is added, you can proceed with setting up your website and its services.
