Enabling Bunny CDN on a website

 

Overview

This article explains how to enable Bunny CDN on your website. 

Background

The Bunny Essential CDN plan is already included with all DreamPress installations. You can also enable it on non-DreamPress sites as well.

Yearly subscriptions for CDN plans are not available at this time.

Make sure you review the following before proceeding:

Enabling Bunny CDN

To enable Bunny CDN in the panel:

  1. Navigate to the Manage Websites page.
  2. Click the Manage button to open the Domain Settings page, which allows you to adjust various settings for your site.
    • If in Grid view, click the Manage button at the bottom of the website box.
    • If in List view, click the Manage button at the far right of your domain name.
  3. Click the Settings tab.
  4. Scroll down to the Performance section.
  5. To the right of Bunny CDN, use one of these two options:
    • Click Enable if the site is hosted on DreamPress. This activates the Essential CDN plan included with DreamPress.
    • Click Explore if the site is not hosted on DreamPress. This displays available Bunny CDN plans for purchase.

Bunny CDN may take up to 20 minutes to configure. 

Managing Bunny CDN

This section details the options available to manage Bunny CDN once it is enabled for a domain. 

Pause CDN

Pausing Bunny CDN allows you to test or troubleshoot your site. When the CDN is paused, your site traffic will instead route through DreamHost servers. Your settings will stay saved and billing, if applicable, will continue.

To restart Bunny CDN, click the Resume CDN button.

Purge Cache

This option removes all cached data from your CDN cache across all Bunny CDN data centers. The next time users visit your site, the latest version will be fetched from the DreamHost servers.

Sites with heavy traffic may run slower while the cache rebuilds.

To clear the cache, click the Purge button and confirm by clicking Purge again.

Site statistics

Using this option will open the Traffic page of your panel.

Graphs will appear 24 hours after adding your domain while new data is collected.

Configure Settings

The CDN is pre-configured for static assets to be delivered quickly while dynamic or sensitive content remains secure. For additional information about default settings used by the CDN, see this article.

To adjust the CDN settings. click the Modify button.

Remove Bunny CDN

This option will remove all cached resources and settings. Upgraded plans are removed at the end of the current billing period and no additional fees will be applied.

To remove Bunny CDN permanently, click the Delete CDN button.
